The ceremony was attended by Artittaya Tanthuwanit, who served as the ship's godmother. Mrs. Tanthuwanit is the spouse of Borvornsint Tanthuwanit, CEO of Ngow Hock Co., Ltd.
This vessel is the ninth in the 23,660 TEU Hamburg Express Class and represents a significant step in the ongoing fleet expansion. Once completed, the class will include a total of 12 vessels, making it the largest series to operate under the German flag. Only three ships remain under construction.
The Bangkok Express has now departed from South Korea, setting course for Busan on her maiden voyage. Captain Alexander Meyer and his crew will oversee the voyage.
The fleet owner has emphasized that these vessels form part of their long-term goal to achieve a climate-neutral fleet by 2045.
