The company, which operates a fleet of 24 vessels—20 bulk carriers and four suezmaxes—is part of the Ciner Group, a Turkish family-owned conglomerate active in energy, mining, natural soda ash, glass, chemicals, and shipping. The group has also recently exited its media holdings.

Atiye Akman, Purchasing Manager at Ciner Ship Management, explained that the decision to end operations in Turkey was made abruptly for undisclosed reasons.

"The shipowning company I have been working for over the past 13 years has decided to end its operations in Turkey," Akman noted. She added that employees had to leave the office within an hour and that no formal handover took place with the incoming operator.

Partners and clients will be contacted by the new operator, or they can search for them under the same company name.

This move marks a significant shift in the company’s operations as it relocates to Greece.
