As a result of the ongoing negotiations between the two organizations; the acceptance certificate was delivered to KOSDER by BIMCO officials and the membership became official as of February 2025.
In the letter sent to the association, while expressing the satisfaction of KOSDER for joining BIMCO, it was emphasized that the two organizations will cooperate on all topics of importance regarding world maritime.
KOSDER was also entitled to become a member of the BIMCO Documentary Committee, which is responsible for the preparation and updating of standard contracts, documents and legal documents used in the maritime industry.
The issue was brought to the agenda at Shipping Route Istanbul (SHIPROUTE-24), which was organized by the Association in October 2024 and attended by BIMCO President Nikolaus H. Schües and Head of Membership & Business Development Erik Jensby, and the parties held the first talks on KOSDER's BIMCO membership.
