“If the Israeli enemy continues after the first four days to prevent the entry of aid into the Gaza Strip … then we will resume our naval operations against the Israeli enemy,” al-Houthi stated, suggesting attacks could resume on Tuesday.
The Houthis previously launched drone and missile strikes on vessels in the Red Sea during the Gaza conflict, citing support for Hamas. These attacks ceased following the ceasefire that began on January 19.
On February 28, al-Houthi also threatened to restart missile strikes on Israeli territory, warning that Tel Aviv could be targeted if Israel resumes military operations in Gaza.
Israel suspended humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza on March 2 after Hamas rejected a ceasefire extension proposed by U.S. Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff.
On March 4, the U.S. State Department re-designated the Houthis as a foreign terrorist organization.
